Break thoughts

So recently, I've had an unexpected 5 day weekend when a snow storm hit the area and cancelled school for 3 days! An interesting experience I commonly have over breaks like this is an excess of thinking time. Since I don't need to worry about tests or due dates or anything like that, I can spend my time thinking and getting engrossed in something else. This time around it was VR. Before I just thought of it as something kinda cool, but now I really want to be in it. As a programmer, it would be a world where I could create anything I wanted. Apparently, VR technology has advanced a whole lot since the last time I'd heard about it. Now there are haptic suits, gloves, extremely high quality headsets, treadmills, all very cool stuff. I would totally jump for an Quest 2, if it wasn't controlled by Facebook (Meta). There's been plenty of leaks and patents about a new, standalone headset from Valve though, so I'm pretty excited for that. Hopefully by the time it releases I'll have enough money saved up to get one. Probably going to be pretty expensive though. We'll see.
