Ever since I was little, space intrigued me. Looking up into the vast expanse filled me with awe and wonder. Each one of the twinkling dots was a burning hot star. This desire of space exploration grew and grew, and I remember the first time seeing a rocket launch and being overcome by goosebumps. At the same time, I first got into the world of computers through a club at my elementary school. As I got older and learned more, I knew that this was what I was going to devote my life to. I resolved to myself that someday, I would write software that would bring people to Mars.

I love Earth, but with our population expected to break 10 billion, we are having a harder and harder time sustaining such a large population. I want to help the human species explore and diversify onto new planets through code. I've been working toward this goal and growing my passion for many years. To continue this, my next goal is to expand my knowledge of code past what I could teach myself through college. I want to go past the first 4 years get a Masters Degree so that I become an expert in this field. I plan to use the first few years after college gaining work experience and specialties. From there, I hope to join a passionate team working on human space exploration to then contribute to humanity's progress.

College is a very crucial step in my goals, and it is also the most financially stressing. A scholarship would be critical to pay for tuition, books, and especially for computer science students like me, expensive computing equipment. This would reduce my stress in trying to get jobs unrelated to my career just to pay my bills or debts.

Preparing for college has been quite different for me from other students. I was born in Delaware, USA, and at 3 years old, my family moved to Italy. Just before first grade, we moved again to Saudi Arabia. Here is where I first fell in love in computing. I had friends who were also enthusiastic, but at the end of fifth grade, our family moved again to Montana, USA. There, through middle school and my first two years of high school, I found new friends interested in computing and robotics. I dedicated a lot of time to robotics club and speech and debate club, and I was often at school from sunrise to sundown for my clubs. However, my efforts were cut short when my family moved again to here: West Lafayette, Indiana. Moving this many times in my life has thrown wrenches at many of my plans. From moving up to leadership in clubs, to getting my diploma. However, I'm determined to make my goal come true, no matter how many times the details change.
