Skill Tree
There are just so many topics in the world to learn about! It's just a shame there's not enough time to explore them all. So many different areas of knowledge, so many different skills, so many experiences that I won't be able to have. Human life is about experience and story, so it feels like of weird to know that I will never get to see some parts of it.
I imagine our future and skills laid out like a skill tree in a game. You get a limited amount of skill points, time and money, to spend on learning new skills and experiencing them. There's branch on the tree for physical activities like sports, skydiving, parkour, and whatever, and another branch for mental/stationary activities like art, research, and more. At this point, I've pretty much decided what I'm going to spend my skill points on. Programming/CS and hopefully digital art assuming I get okay at it. A primary skill and a secondary one. My primary skill tree will hopefully carry me through the rest of life, and the secondary one I hope to level up and have fun with. Who knows what I'll discover in college though. I'm looking forward to it as a time of discovery, even though I know hard work lays that way.
In the end, this is just a way of thinking about my own future. What will I be doing and where will I be in 1, 4, 10 years? It also makes the present feel special. Right now, I can switch to any skill branch I want without any real repercussions. It really does feel like more doors are closing than opening, but I'm sure that'll change soon enough.
What the skill branches that you've decided to main? Good luck and happy new year. Let's hope 2023 is a year of great progress.
